Who We've Helped

SHC Trust recently awarded £2000 to Carers Trust Hillingdon to fund an overnight residential break for 14 young carers. The young carers enjoyed outdoor activities, developed team-building, social and communication skills and made new friends. This gave them a much-needed break from their caring responsibilities at home.

A grant of £3112.50 was made to Yeading Junior School in order to establish a 'uniform bank' for children in need of uniform. This has enabled the school to provide and stock a bank of uniform for children whose parents are unable to purchase uniform for them, ensuring that all children are fully integrated into the school community and that no child feels 'different' because they do not have the school uniform.

The Trustees approved a grant of £500 for Hillingdon Basketball Club for new t-shirts and equipment for their youth section. This helped to encourage children locally to get active through playing basketball and to feel that they belong to an active, sporting, inclusive community.

SHC Trust awarded £1500 to Ickenham Youth FC so that they could establish an U6/U7 girls' football team. The money was used to buy the necessary equipment and train volunteer coaches. We are delighted that the team is thriving!

In late 2022, SHC Trust made a grant of £2000 to Home Start Hillingdon to fund the training of volunteers in their Spring 2023 training programme. These volunteers work with families with children aged 0-5 across Hillingdon Borough, who may be struggling. Volunteers befriend families, offer practical help and signpost them to further support if needed.

SHC Trust provided a grant to Oak Farm Junior School to pay for a member of staff to become trained in Drawing And Talking Therapy. The staff member is now putting their training into practice, supporting several children each term to enhance their mental health and well-being
